How to mend a hole, visible mending

Reduce. Reuse. Recycle. A sustainability mantra!
Don't throw away your old clothes, but learn to give them a new life. Like the generation of our grandmothers and great-grandmothers who truly put this way of life into practice – out of necessity, of course – it remains a current and intelligent method.
Here you can learn the visible mending technique; perhaps a hole has formed in your dress, or the seams have weakened from use... your garment needs loving care! You will only need a needle, pins, thread, and a small piece of fabric of your choice.
For a more "rustic" style, use different colored threads. There are many visible mending techniques; I used a sewing machine, but you can do the same by hand.

I turned the shirt inside out and applied the fabric patch with pins to cover the hole. I sewed the edges of the patch with a straight stitch, using thread of the same color as the fabric.

I turned the shirt right side out and, again with a straight stitch, made many random back and forth stitches, using the reverse function of the sewing machine. As I mentioned, you can also do this step by hand or with contrasting threads.

Very simple! The hole in this case was on the back of the shirt, so it was less noticeable, but if the spot were more visible, I recommend repeating the same steps on other areas of the shirt to create "fake repairs" and make the shirt stylish.
Happy crafting!
